DISCOVER NEPAL TEA
Discover Nepal Tea is a global marketing platform co-founded by the Discover Nepal Tea team and the Specialty Tea Association of Nepal. This platform is meant to provide small tea farmers and processors of Nepal direct access to a global market to sell their unique tea products at competitive prices. It has distribution outlets in Australia and the USA that sources specialty tea directly from the farmers/processors in Nepal.
SPECIALTY TEA ASSOCIATION OF NEPAL (STAN)
Specialty Tea Association Nepal is an umbrella organization of 46 small tea processors in Nepal. STAN has established its own blending center, quality testing, and packaging facility, three supply chain, and marketing companies; STAN Tea Hub Kathmandu, STAN LLC USA, and STAN Australia who are responsible for a reliable, consistent, and a fresh supply of quality tea directly from the factory to a national and international market.

Suman’s family background comes from Mangmalung and Senchelengma tea plantations in the Panchthar District of Nepal. He believes in the prosperous future of all small tea farmers but with a collective conscience working together as one. He stress-points on the “urgency of access to market and proper representation for small tea farmers and Nepal Tea as a whole.”

Saurav Man Pradhan is a professional web developer, and he manages e-commerce development for Discover Nepal Tea Australia. Suman has worked together on many projects with Saurav in the role of a senior graphic designer. Together, they are a creative team, the engine runner of e-commerce and digital platform.

Raju is the chairperson of the Specialty Tea Association of Nepal. His contribution to small farmers of Nepal is invaluable. With his leadership and vision, the association has successfully transformed many small farmers into entrepreneurs. Raju is a successful entrepreneur in his own right. He is one of the major exporters of Nepali Specialty tea in the international markets.

Chandra comes from Keshari Tea Estate Phidim, Nepal, which shares the highest tea plantation altitude with Pathivara tea estate in Nepal. Chandra is the visionary of Replace Aid with Trade campaign, going hand-in-hand with small tea farmers, collectively. Just like Suman, Chandra is also one of the soil-representations of Phidim district carrying the indigenous root of the place. Chandra has been an advocate of Nepal tea for many years and now with Discover Nepal Tea, he wishes to implement Replace Aid with Trade campaign in the tea sector.

DISCOVER NEPAL TEA
Rudra has been working in the agriculture business development sector in Nepal since 2002. He was a project manager in a Danish government-supported UNNATI program in Nepal. The program supported Nepali tea farmers, processors, and traders in production, quality improvement, market development, infrastructure development. UNNATI’s contribution brought a new wave in Nepal, transforming a large percentage of small farmers to entrepreneurs. After the project ended in 2018, he decided to continue and contribute to the Nepal tea industry and small farmers.
